Ayanda’s Blog: 25 July 2024 “While you think something can ruin your life it can also make a positive impact”

Updated: Jul 28

Today I witnessed Something very interesting.

People were actually going around advocating for sex work. As we know that in other countries sex work is illegal and here they were trying to fight for their right that they also allow sex workers to be treated normally.

Even sex workers who are HIV positive should be allowed to work and not be fined because they're Positive.

This actually makes me realise that other countries are Still fighting stigma and discrimination against people who are HIV positive. Also the fact that they get arrested if they're said to be positive that means they cannot practice their rights as sex workers.

It's an organisation that funds small businesses and organisations Globally which actually enlightened us on how one can apply for funding from them

I was listening to stories of an HIV positive a transgender man who was discriminated in the community, who ended up getting arrested for committing crimes. He believes that his arrest somehow paved a way for him to look at life in a positive manner because when he was in prison he was someone that people could go to. People could go to him and shared stories with him that made him to be a peer leader.

Which tells that something may happen, while you think it can ruin your life it also make a positive impact in one's life.
